Susanna Swenson joined Carthage in fall 2006, after a four-year career with the Lady Reds from 2001 to 2004. She was part of Carthage 1,600-meter relay teams that finished fifth at the 2003 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship, seventh at the 2003 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship and fourth at the 2002 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship. Coach Swenson earned a total of nine All-CCIW citations, including a first-place finish in the heptathlon at the 2004 CCIW Outdoor Track and Field Championship. A native of Platteville, Wis., she graduated from Carthage in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science. She received her master's degree in education from Iowa State University in 2006 and served as that school's CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator for the 2005-06 academic year. Coach Swenson and her husband, Steve, live in Beach Park, Ill.
