Professor Pascal Rollet specializes in 19th century French literature and the culture of modern France. He teaches French, Spanish, and Western Heritage. Since coming to Carthage, he has been committed to the promotion of study abroad and to the development of multi-cultural awareness.
Prof. Rollet earned his Licence en lettres d'enseignement d'anglais from the University of Caen, France; M.A. from the University of Kentucky; and Ph. D. from the University of Pennsylvania, where he held the William Penn and Mellon Dissertation Fellowships. In addition to English and French, he is fluent in Spanish and Italian. He joined the Carthage faculty in 1993.
"Professor Rollet truly deserves all the recognition he can get. He takes full advantage of the small class sizes to make learning interactive, assigning video projects or plays instead of speeches. He always shows us the best places to find current French media and music. He has an extreme passion for teaching and a desire to make the world a better place."
