Leanne Ulmer was a successful head girls and boys volleyball coach at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Ill. She earned her B.A. in social relations from the University of California-Riverside. She was member of the 1979 volleyball team, which won an Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) national championship. Later, she was inducted into the school's athletic hall of fame. She briefly played with the New York Stars of the Women's Professional Basketball League, and on the Women's Professional Golf Association mini-tour from 1989-91. Ms. Ulmer was once a winning contestant on the television game show "Wheel of Fortune."
