Professor Carolyn Hudson studied Fine Art and English Literature at the University of Leeds and Huddersfield College in England, where she earned the U.S. equivalents of the B.A. and M.A. degrees, specializing in the Early Modern period. She taught at York and Oxford Colleges of Further Education in England, and came to Carthage in 1981.
Prof. Hudson's lifelong commitment to the interdisciplinary learning experience, and her background in arts and humanities, led to her crafting and piloting many of the innovative interdisciplinary programs now at the core of the Carthage education. As well as teaching specialized courses in art history, she teaches Carthage Symposia and courses in the Women and Gender Studies Program.
